Our Commitment to Responsible Gaming

We want players to have fun and enjoy our products safely, and that's why we're committed to a policy of responsible gaming. While we recognize that the overwhelming majority of our players enjoy gaming responsibly, we also recognize that there is a small portion of the population who do not. Some users may get carried away and risk overspending, and for some people, compulsive gambling becomes a more serious problem.

To protect these people and others who are affected by their behavior, we have established a set of policies and guidelines modeled after the American Gaming Association's Code of Conduct for Responsible Gaming. The Code establishes minimum standards that address problem gambling, underage gambling and responsible marketing and advertising.

The information and resources on this page help players like you gamble responsibly. We encourage you to review these pages thoroughly. You are always welcome to reach out with questions or concerns.

Tools to Manage Gaming Activity

Risks of excessive gambling

While sports betting is not truly as randomized as you see when you play your favorite slot machine, there is an unavoidable element of randomness in sports betting. For instance, you’ll never know when your favorite player will get injured, how the weather will affect your favorite match ups, or if a player will change teams. While there is true randomness in slot machine play (i.e. each outcome is as likely to occur as the last), in sports betting we assign odds to an event. Odds indicate the likelihood of an event to occur and the return you’d get if you were to make a wager on the result of a sport related outcome. While disciplined research and sport expertise certainly add to the skill based nature of sports betting, the exhilarating notion of randomness will always be in play!

Help & Support

Limits

To help you manage your play in a healthy, responsible way, we offer proactive tools and support including allowing you to manage your play by setting user limits. Limits can be found here, and on the left-side navigation bar and from the Account Page while on a mobile device. Selecting a specific limit will allow you to enable and configure the limit.

Limits can be adjusted. Decreases to limits (i.e. making a limit more restrictive) take effect immediately. Increases to limits (i.e. making a limit less restrictive) take effect once the existing limit expires. You must reaccept your new limit.

Self-Exclusion

Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has established a Responsible Gaming Database which contains a list of individuals who are prohibited from establishing an internet sports betting and/or internet gaming account. You can request to voluntary place yourself in this Database by contacting the MGCB here.

This is a formal process whereby you request through the MGCB that interactive gaming and sports betting operators prevent you from accessing gambling services. You may request a self-exclusion through the Board for a term of one or five years. You may also exclude for interactive gaming, sports wagering, or both.

If you would like to contest your placement in the Responsible Gaming Database, please contact the MGCB at the above link.

Operator self-exclusion is a formal process whereby you request permanent exclusion through the Barstool Sportsbook that will prevent you from accessing this or any other Penn National Gaming, Inc. owned or operated online real money gaming product and physical casino.

If you choose to self-exclude through either of the above options we will close your account and return any remaining balance, unless otherwise required by MGCB regulation. Once you self-exclude through the Barstool Sportsbook Permanent Exclusion Option, we cannot reverse the process for any reason. During your self-exclusion period, we will not send you any marketing material, and we cannot accept any deposits or bets. You may contact Barstool Player Experience if you need to request a withdrawal. Please note that any marketing materials which have already been dispatched may be delivered.

Timeout

If you'd like to take a break from playing on Barstool Sportsbook, you can do so with a Timeout. Let us know how much time away you need and we'll make sure you cannot access your account until that period is up.
